About Clinical Trials and Complementary and Alternative Medicine gives general information about clinical trials as well as more specific information about trials involving complementary or alternative medicine.

AIDS Clinical Trials Information Service is focused on AIDS and HIV research trials, but has easy-to-read resources about trials, including English and Spanish PDFs of pamphlets and fact sheets.

CancerTrials, sponsored by the National Cancer Institute, provides cancer-specific information as well as very accessible general information about trials, including some in Spanish.

CancerTrialsHelp.org provides patients and care-givers in-depth content about cancer clinical trials, including information about insurance issues, questions to ask your doctor, general facts cancer clinical trials, and a list of patient advocacy organizations.

CenterWatch Clinical Trials Listing Service lists more than 41,000 active clinical trials, especially those sponsored by drug companies. The patient and general resources section is especially useful.

ClinicalTrials.com, which focuses mainly on pharmaceutical-sponsored studies, provides contact information for more than 20,000 community health resources, a glossary of terms, a searchable database of current studies, and a registry for information on future trials.

ClinicalTrials.gov provides patients, family members and members of the public current information about clinical research studies.

Clinical Trials Information for Patients gives a general description of a clinical trial, the types of trials, and treatment options.

Clinical Trials of Medical Treatments: Why Volunteer? explains the reasons clinical trials are important and how participants are protected from harm.

Closing the Gap, a newsletter of the Office of Minority Health, explains why it is particularly important for minorities to take part in clinical research trials.

An Introduction to Clinical Trials: Patients Take Part in Searching for the Cure is an article that gives a general overview of clinical trials.

MEDLINEplus’ topic page arranges clinical trial links into categories and provides a pre-formulated PubMed search for clinical trial research articles.

The Studies is a searchable database of current clinical trials being done by the National Institutes of Health.

Should I Enter a Clinical Trial? is a patient reference guide for adults with a serious or life-threatening illness and their loved ones. It answers general questions and provides checklists for use when talking with doctors.
